Story Of A Man Nam’d Khunanup
This story was written by our ancestors around 1,800 BC it surviv’d to give us Nuwabians a folk tale that has sense of culture and history. It shows us the political thinking, law ethics, corruption, and societal values.
Summary
The story starts with a peasant man call’d KhunAnup who lived in Wadi Natarun (Salt Country). One day KhunAnup packed his Donkeys with local goods and travel’d to the capital Henen Neswu. His travel’d because he desperately want’d to feed his starving family. On his way, he crosses the estate of a high steward, ^ overseen by a ruth less well linked man named Nentinakht. Nemtinakht tricks Khun anup, he blocks the path with a garment forcing KhunAnup’s donkey to step on to his grain field. when the donkey eats stalk of barley, Mentinakht Beats Khun anup and takes his livestockand goods.
Khunanup’s Appeals
No retreat, with strength and zeal Khunanup tracks down Nentinakht’s superior, the high steward Rensi. Khunanup, though a peasant, presents his case to Rensi with masterful rhetoric, word stock (vocabulary), and poetry thaet left Rensi stunn’d. Rensi reports this peasant to A’afumr Nebkaure. Amazed by the peasants strength and control of speech. The A’afumr orders Rensi to delay the trial and deny any petitions. The A’afumr wants to keep Khunanup speaking so that his pretty solo talks can be transcrib’d on papyrus scrolls. Meanwhile, the A’afumr hides the fact that he sent the peasant food and sends food to his family so they will not starve.

Driven to desperation, Khunanup begg’d Rensi nine times. He emotionally spoke using rhetoric tones from thankful to direct. Chastizing rebukes of the ruling class’s corruption. His wisdom and settednes (foundation) were reward’d. At the end, A’afumr Nebkaure orders all of Nemtinakht’s property and possessions seiz’d and given to Khunanup. He and his family were rais’d in wealth and standing in Tamarean society.
